Tomorrow is New Year’s Eve! It’s crazy to think that 2025 is only a few days away. I was recently looking back at some of the lofty goals I’d made for the new year and it made me laugh. In 2022 I made a goal to master all the arm balances in yoga… Three years later, that still hasn’t happened. I can get myself into crow pose now though, so one down!

My Goals for 2025

My goals for this year are pretty simple. I mostly just want to keep up with the good habits I’ve built this year, like daily ukulele practice and regular exercise, but I’ve got a couple of new ones in mind too:

  • Draw in my sketchbook daily
  • Finish illustrating the children’s book my cousin wrote
  • Write on this blog more

There are so many things I’d love to do and learn, but I’m also homeschooling three boys right now so I have to keep things realistic.

Free Printable Daily Goal Tracker

I really like the way our church’s youth program approaches goal setting. It’s patterned after this scripture:

“And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.”

Luke 2:52

The youth are encouraged to set goals regularly in each of these four areas: spiritual, social, physical, and intellectual. I love this method for goal setting because I feel like it helps keep life balanced and manageable. I’m still fairly new to the youth program (I’ve been an advisor in the Young Women’s program for about a year now), but I’ve really loved being a part of it, and I’m grateful for the impact it’s had on my life.

I designed this little daily goal tracking chart based on those four areas from the youth program. It works like any standard habit tracker. You write in your goals, then check off a bubble each day you work on them. There are enough bubbles at the top to last for one month, so you can just write the date at the top and print a new one each month. Then at the end of the year, you can see your progress all together.

Alternatively, you could print it out and put it in a frame and use a dry erase marker to keep track of your goals for the month, then erase it when you’re done and write in new goals for the next month. I think it’s a good idea to keep some kind of journal to document your progress as well. That could be a notebook, word document, or even an instagram post. Whatever works for you!

Sweet Moments and Nostalgia

For Christmas, my 12 year old wrote me this sweet letter:

He knows how to make me laugh and happy cry… It was a good reminder that I’m probably doing better than I think I am with these amazing boys of mine. I think we have different definitions of a “spotless” house though.

And here’s our current favorite song, just for fun:
