Welcome to 2025!
On New Year’s Eve, we let the kids stay up until midnight for the first time ever. We each took turns choosing a game to play, but after four games with at least one of us having to learn the game each time, we were pretty tired out. So we finished off the night by having a Lost in Space marathon. The kids loved it! Even our six year old was super into it. And when the clock struck 12 and it was officially 2025, there was way too much excitement. But we eventually got everyone to bed.
Drawing and Jumping Rope
On January 1st, I sat down to start my new 2025 sketchbook. I was intimidated by that first blank page, so I procrastinated a little bit and opened up Instagram. It showed me videos of people doing awesome jump rope tricks and now all of my fitness goals involve a jump rope… My hope is that it can turn exercise into something fun that I look forward to doing. We shall see. The overall goal is still to just maintain regular exercise.
Doesn’t it look like so much fun!? I did manage to draw on that first page eventually, in case you were wondering.

A New Year Birthday
My second-born child turned 10 years old! He’s obsessed with football, so all he wanted to do was go to the local high school and play on the field. We all went as a family and Ryan and I ran some sprints while the kids played. Other kids showed up too, so it was like an awesome birthday party that I didn’t even have to plan! Unfortunately, the birthday boy took a football to the face on their last play. So that was sad, but he rallied and still had a good day. Then we got pizza and went home to watch football (obviously).

Making Music
Last night Ryan started playing the harmonica he got for Christmas and it was swoonworthy. We are one step closer to forming a family band! We’ve got a pianist, ukulelist, and now a harmonicist. Rhett and Mason can be our singers.
