My mental health has been really good for the past couple of years, with only minor bouts of anxiety and depression here and there, but it took quite a dip these past few weeks. I have a lot on my plate with homeschool, new baby, trying to keep the house reasonably clean, and Ryan’s two jobs and crazy work schedule. I have to be careful how much I add to that, and to prioritize those things that are most important. The talks Good, Better, Best by Dallin H. Oaks and A Home Where the Spirit of the Lord Dwells by Henry B. Eyring hit close to my heart.
So this week consisted of simplifying. Of sorting out which things are most important, and choosing to put those things first, trusting that the Lord would take care of the rest.
…for I do know that whosoever shall put their trust in God shall be supported in their trials, and their troubles, and their afflictions, and shall be lifted up at the last day.Alma 36:3
I’ve been thinking a lot about Jesus Christ lately with Easter coming up. About His life, and His Atonement. I recently was fortunate enough to get some beautiful prints of the Savior by Del Parson for free. This one is called “He is Risen,” and I’m so happy to have it hanging in our living room!
In Other News… I’m 29!
On Wednesday I got to celebrate my 29th birthday! Ryan let me sleep in, made me breakfast, and cleaned the house while I relaxed. Then he took me on a Red Robin/shopping date, and we came home to this awesome half chocolate half vanilla funfetti cake that the boys made for me with their Nana.
This family of mine is pretty special. They are absolutely my number one priority. I plan on keeping myself as healthy as possible – mentally, physically, and spiritually – so I can always be here for them.
