Working Out the Kinks

I’m glad we’re starting our homeschool adventures in pre-k, because figuring out where to start within the grade is tricky! I wanted to dive into Kender’s Kindergarten curriculum, but he took the quiz at the beginning and needs a refresher course on his letter sounds first.

I printed out this Preschool Daily Learning Notebook and added a few worksheets of my own, including updated calendars for 2016-2017 and a name sheet for Kender to practice writing his name.

Kender likes to call me “teacher” when we’re doing schoolwork and then he turns me back into “momma” when he wants to play video games lol. He’s very game-motivated, so I started a free 30 trial of You can use it on the computer, tablet, or phone and it saves your progress across all devices. Kender likes it so much I have to tell him to take breaks!

It’s only been a couple days, so I can’t really say how well it’s helping him just yet, but he definitely enjoys it, and I like what I see so far. It’s a full curriculum for kids ages preschool to 2nd grade (I think). It has a ticket reward system and each lesson you complete moves you forward on this board game-style adventure. It’s pretty cool! I really like that it allows Kender to go at his own pace.
